The Regional Investments Funds Ltd. (RFI) is a venture capital company operating within the framework of the European Union Programme Phare-Struder.

The RFI is owned by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PAED) that administrates the Phare-Struder Programme in Poland.

Activities

The RFI concentrates its activities on equity investments in small and medium-sized enterprises. RFI provides funds to boost the growth of companies that offer interesting products (or services) and have successful management team, but due to the short track record or the lack of equity have insufficient credit standing. The RFI is a perfect source of equity for those enterprises, as well for the niche market companies. The RFI targets commercially viable projects run by the Polish or joint-venture companies that operate under the Polish Commercial Code.

Financing

The maximum amount of RFI's financial commitment to any investment project ranges from 40,000 to 500,000 EUR. The RFI can only held minority shares (up to 49%) and the typical investment period is from 3 to 7 years.

The RFI contribution to enterprises goes beyond a mere financial support, involving also stronger financial position and credibility of the investees, financial and strategic advisory, or access to new markets or technologies.
